Map Tips

* Before viewing maps please read the following guidelines:

Viewing

This maps are in Adobetm Acrobattm format. To view or print them, you will need the Acrobat Reader software. If you do not already have this software, you can get it by clicking the "Get Acrobat" button below.

Adobe, Acrobat and the Acrobat logo are trademarks of Adobe Systems Incorporated. Macintosh is a registered trademark of Apple Computer, Inc. Windows is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation.

What will you see on these maps?

These PDF maps were created to show detailed boundaries for county commission districts, precincts, as well as, legislative boundaries. In addition, these maps include streets, streetnames, city limit boundaries (as of 1999 Census Bureau's Boundary Annexation Survey), and other census block boundaries and base map features (railroads, powerlines, streams, etc.).

When opened these maps will default to the extent of the county and details of boundary locations may not be clear and street names will not be readable. Use the zoom tool in Acrobat Reader to resolve this problem.

Map Tools

Zoom Tool (Enlarging)

Click on the Zoom Tool on the toolbar of Acrobat Reader and use the cursor to draw a box around the area where more detail is needed. To zoom back out, click on one of the page icons on the toolbar.

Panning Tool (Moving)

Once the desired area is selected the PDF format allows for shifting the map to see other areas. To do this, click on the Pan Tool, place the cursor on the map, left click and hold the mouse button down to "grab" the map. Then move the cursor to shift the visible portion of the map. Repeat this step as necessary to view the desired area.

Printing

These maps were designed at 34x44 inches to show street level detail and printing results are best when produced at this size. To do this you will need a large format plotter capable of printing 34x44 inch sheets. The colors, patterns, etc. were also designed for printing using a Hewlett Packard 1055CM plotter. Some variation in quality should be expected if these maps are printed at sizes or using devices other then these mentioned.
