Legislative Systems Analyst 1

OFFICE
This position is with the Office of Management Services which is under the direction of the Comptroller of the Treasury. The Office of Management Services provides fiscal, printing, personnel and data processing services for all divisions of the Comptroller's Office which includes twelve divisions and 600 employees.

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under immediate supervision, is responsible for professional information systems analytical work of routine difficulty involving the analysis of various administrative, reporting, and statistical systems, the development of methods for adapting these systems to electronic data processing and performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related curriculum; qualifying full-time professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two years; graduation from an accredited two-year college or technical institute with a major in data processing, computer science, or other related acceptable field will be considered as the required education when combined with a minimum of two years of qualifying full-time professional experience. Qualifying experience must be in systems analysis, computer programming, or a directly related area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of administrative, reporting, and statistical systems commonly used in business, industry, and government; knowledge of the functions and capabilities of electronic data processing, knowledge of the principles and practices of analyzing and documenting various work systems and processes; knowledge of the principles and practices of developing methods for adapting various work systems and processes to electronic data processing techniques. Ability to learn to analyze administrative, reporting, and statistical systems and processes and to determine electronic data processing applications resulting in greater efficiency and cost effectiveness; ability to design and develop flow charts, diagrams, systems specifications and other documentation in a logical manner in order to facilitate electronic data processing applications; ability to establish effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, administrative personnel, operations staff, and computer programmers.
